A Dyer-Situation: SKYFALL Review

This review marks the beginning of the Dyercentral Renaissance. Forced to live with my grandmother for a second time, I took full advantage of the local theater to see about a movie a week, rapidly increasing the number of Dyer-Situations. The newfound stability of living with a degree of freedom also allowed me to solidify my ideas for Chadwick Jones Presents, which was just around the corner. This is also the first video to use “Money For Nothing” as it’s theme song, making it almost indistinguishable from a modern episode in terms of structure.

“The New James Bond film gets a likin’ by our one and only Glenn Dyer.”

A Dyer-Situation: WRECK-IT RALPH Review

This was the first review to include the entire Dyercentral gang, Rob, Alex, Dylan, and myself. It’s also noteworthy for being the only episode to use the Highway Blues theme, which is also used by Rob in his show MistCLaneous.

“Everyone teams up to watch Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph.”

A Dyer-Situation: SINISTER Review

This is the first of many reviews concerning Blumhouse Productions. I have always been a fan of the horror genre and I hope to get into a career making them some day. Blumhouse’s predictable formula and highly advertised dreck brings a bad name to the horror industry and I will stop at nothing to expose them for what they are.

“Today Glenn and Alex take a look at Sinister.”

A Dyer-Situation: FRANKENWEENIE Review

For a time this was the longest video on Dyercentral, later to be outmatched by Oz the Great and Powerful, Batman V. Superman, and several episodes of the Dragon Ball Lookback. Interestingly, though most long reviews are of bad movies, Frankenweenie was quite good, proving the uncanny co-reviewing abilities of myself and Rob.

“A Dyer-situation is a show where Glenn goes out and sees some good and not-so-good movies, then tells us what he thinks.”

A Dyer-Situation: THE POSSESSION Review

This was the first review I did after I moved back in with my aunt. Production of Dyer-Situations slowed for a while but the joy of movie reviewing was still strong inside of me. This episode also introduced the end credits to let everyone know who the movie’s production team was, the overall score for all the metacritic users out there,  and the now iconic aviator glasses. Sadly, the footage was corrupted and it looks like a 90’s FMV game.

“Sorry about the shoddy footage, something went wrong when I uploaded it to my computer.”

A Dyer-Situation: THE WATCH Review

Though the movie is somewhat forgettable, its review is quite significant in Dyer-Situation history. This introduced not only the opening credits which are still seen today, but also the before and after trope that A Dyer-Situation is famous for. The idea for this came from Alex Kawecki when I was describing my feelings on Brave and Madagascar 3, specifically how I wished everyone could see just how much my initial expectations were different from the actual experience.

“A Dyer-situation is a show where Glenn goes out and sees some good and not-so-good movies, then tells us what he thinks.”

A Dyer-Situation: TED Review

This was the first of many co-reviews done with other Dyercentral alumni. Over 90% of Dyer-Situations are done with only me, but when someone is interested, I am always willing to hear another opinion.

“Glenn goes out watches movies and then he grabs his camera and tells us what he thinks. Pretty exciting huh? Today, Alex and Rob join him in watching the horribly dated movie ‘Ted'”

A Dyer-Situation: MADAGASCAR 3 Review

This was the first review to utilise the the name “Dyer-Situation” and an early version of the opening and closing catchphrases. The original plan was to include the aviators in the segments, but they didn’t make an appearance until later. Also, this movie is bad.

“A Dyer-situation is a show where Glenn goes out and sees some good and not-so-good movies, then tells us what he thinks.”
